    Morning peeps

Whats is the snow like near you??

Feel free to add a pic so we can see how bad it really is.

Because i live in a "dip" the east coast is higher then me, and just to the west is also, we tend to escape the worst weathers and just get a fraction of most people, however ive just de-iced the car in my shorts and t-shirt (pj's) and its fking freezing and snowing heavily.

I hear friends in Newcastle can't venture out its that bad, and another friend in Glasgow cant even get to his car the snow is that deep.

Peace out and safe travels to all

It really does look like the North East is getting hit hard this year. It makes a change because I've been hit every year since I came back to Halifax.

Liverpool had its own micro climate and rarely got snow. The time they got 2 inches (this is 10 years I lived there and the only time they'd seen snow. For many children, it was the first time!) brought the city to a standstill!

This morning it took me only 5 mins to defrost the car (thank you Mr Ford for your heated front screen Smile ) and set off. My gloves not being there (son been in car!) didn't help though.

Saying all this, I do have to venture out in the morning and at night (coldest bloody points!) to put a pan of water on the pond. The ice is now about 3 inches thick. Poor fish!

    Oh FFS,

Talk about speaking too soon. I wake up this morning to find 4-5 inches and a 90 min journey to work avoiding all the idiots. Oh joy! I really love snow, NOT!

Add to this my eldest daughter complaining because I made her go to school - oh, the 5 min walk will kill her, she'll freeze to death! FFS.

Mad to solve the "pond" issue, put a tennis ball in it, the bobbing motion will prevent it freezing over and the fish will be able to breath..... your thanks go the father in law Very Happy

The main problem, Bainn, is that I'm only 29 and used to it, but many folk around the country aren't. Sharon's kids for instance have never been sledging.

This meant it took me 2.5 hours to get 13 miles home that normally takes 30 mins. Not because it was bad, just because people don't know how to drive in it.

I should've took a video of the idiot youngster trying to get up our road. In 1st doing about 6000rpm. I came up in 3rd doing about 1000rpm. Guess who managed it?

Oh well, I couldn't be bothered today so I'm home playing in the snow and posting here!

well all I can say is...

Porsche 911; sold as everyday super car..BULLSHIT everday that does not have any snow sure, but 1" of snow and every journy needs windscreen wipers on side windows !!!!

Now don't get me wrong, as my name sugests; side ways action was my hobby, but in a 400bhp rear wheel, rear engine car ain't so much fun when you can spin her up @ 15mph in 6th affraid

Now I know why, they say 911's are like living with a Axe murderer, all nice and pie; but really just lurking, waiting for there moment to KILL YOU !!

True; but does it look as cool running at 45° to the direction of travel !! lol

Of cause the other downer is, with heated seats ya arse is not quite so puckered as it should be, this could well lead to brown trouser moments in a very short space of time. Embarassed

My reliable Ford Focus did well in the snow. I can't say the same for my Trajet! It really was tragic. The days when I can afford a Prosche or an Audi are quite a way away from me yet. Fingers crossed though, heh?!

Well all the snow this morning has turned to sheer bloody ICE. I made it in to work but not until after scraping both the outside AND the inside of my car!

    Bloody weather!
