SPS Chips

Been testing a points system for a while, and it's now live, you should see a "SPS Chips" number below each users number of posts.

Members will recieve 3 SPS Chips for starting a new topic, and 1 SPS Chip for a reply to a topic. If your topic is a Popular topic, (denoted by flames around it, for +25 replies) you will get a bonus 5 chips.

The system has collated points for the last few months, members with many posts before that date will not have as many points as they should, but it's better than everyone starting from zero i think.

This is very much still in the testing stages still, and things may change!

In the near future there will be ways to spend your SPS chips, and also other ways to obtain them!

Ok, slight change to the points scoring, designed to reward and encourage more poker related discussion...

its still the same for the general section, including this main forum...

posting new topic in general section - 3 chips
replying to topic in general section - 1 chip

but now...

posting new topic in online or live section - 4 chips
replying to topic in online or live section - 2 chips

A great idea, methinks, but i have to admit I find it quite difficult to keep in touch with all my online fora and networks, etc., etc! So I don't think I shall be running away with any points!

what will we be able to spend them on?

for every 1000 pts you get to use one of the 'big 4' swears in a post and it wont get edited

and a bonus 50 pts for 'post of the month'

to be chosen by you, u can vote urself if u think ur worthy but it goes to a forum vote if u do lol.

hmm, interesting, i like it ... but do people get chips for posting spam and rubbish?

liking the topic of the week month idea, will be doing something like this, n1.

and dont worry chuck... flagrant "chip posting" will not be tolerated, and warnings will be followed by chip reduction! take trapsetter for example,....

this means the topic was prob worth replying to, instead of 2ppl goin at it for 3 days ( about each others mum ) and gettin rewarded for it.

well, 25 replies is easier, but i take your point - perhaps 25 replies, and 10+ respondents?

this just stops ppl gettin rewarded for not really contributing to the site.
