I usually multi table 8-16 tables, and while i do ok mostly, id obviously like to do better. One thing that i find as a weakness in my game is deciphering click tells. Has anyone any advice on this it would be appreciated.

Re: Click tells
Are we talking how fast or slow someone makes/calls a bet? Their 'click speed'?

Re: Click tells
Thats what I assume Rick.
This is very unreliable tho. feigning weakness in a delay is very obvious. Biggest problem here is the time might be more controlled by the connectivity/speed of line/system etc and can be very misleading.
I try to ignore it. Betting patterns and table image are more reliable imo.

Re: Click tells
Speed of calls or how slow they call raise can be a number of factors...
1) multi tabling.
2) Bad connection
3) Couldnt give a sh ite, only playing to waste an hour while watching tv.
4) Wife nagginf em in ear hole bout the dog needing walking...
Wud never delve to deeply into this, if it is in fact the case.

Re: Click tells
Ive herd of alot of click tells around
the only one that i use tho is if they call super fast after the flop, that normally means they have a very weak hand or a draw

Spot on, you just can't read too deeply into click speed as it were. Even when people raise all in or make monster bets super super fast, it means nothing.
As mentioned, focus more on betting patterns and try to decipher a table image. Make the most of the notes feature on most sites as well, the more notes you make on a player, the more you'll appreciate it if you bump into the same bloke / bird on the tables again.

Re: Click tells
imo that is way too many tables - how can you possibly play 8 tables and learn the table dynamics?
I would say stick to 4 maybe 6 at the most, good quality tournaments with the best value - I guarantee you will see a better profit return

Beware...
Ultimately I would give NO CREDIBILITY to any perceived 'tell' you get from the timing until you have a VAST amount of experience against any specific player that says (for instance) "takes ages on river when trying to work out best value bet with the nuts".
As already said in this thread it's just as likely kettles boiling, phones ringing, TVs being watched... etc, rather than some meaningful dwell up. If you push because you sense weakness from the guy holding the nuts just because he bent over to pick up his crack pipe you'll be in a world of hurt.
Incidentally: Winners don't do drugs. (just in case my mum logs in)

Re: Click tells
yeh i think you're right that it is not much to be looked into. with the current multitabling click tells have lost a bit of their value really... there are some that still swear by them... but only one I really use is an almost time out shove is rarely anything but the nuts and of course the one above..... I do of course call even with nothing just to prove this theory

Re: Click tells
One does spring to mind...
If you limp into a pot and the bb insta checks, he prob had check/fold ticked, and therfore prob doesnt have 2 picture cards, or an ace or a pair. Always nice to know
Oh and as mentioned, a timebank/shove on the river is almost always the nuts or close to it.
