yeah definitely agree, should be at least 2000 chips, you only get the chance to play a few hands if they go wrong, hardly gives any room to manouvere. In hold em its ok, where there are massive advantages pre and on flops, % wise, but in omaha its often a lot closer, and you need more chips to work with to counteract this luck element.

Yes m8 I think the game also gives an unrealistic amount of preflop raising making the flop view often difficult.Sitting waiting on aa in that game is suicide as if u miss the set you tied up and will 8/10times lose with 2/3 callers on board.Much better value hands with variation.

I hear a lot about omaha and how fishy it can be... for someone like (me) whos never played it before and been bashing around on holdem for the most part for learning etc.. is this another avenue to go down and see what its all about?

If so where should i start?

well the main thing about omaha is that on average the standard of play is much worse than hold em. On the lower levels anyway.

its like playing hold'em online 5 years ago, most people are a bit clueless

theres a beginners guide on the main site...
omaha guide , which would be a good start.

Main thing to remember is that altho you can be a bit looser preflop, you need to be a lot tighter on the flop, turn etc. You should only draw to the nuts if youre drawing, and you can get away with some silly overbets if you find the right fish Smile

    happy fishing, and gl bounce
