    Pie Day Empty Pie Day

Post  MADV Fri Dec 04, 2009 12:59 am

Well it's Friday again and that can mean only one thing - Pie day! MMMMMMMM. I do love a juicy pork pie (not the chite out of Tesco) with all the warm jelly dribbling down my chin! 3 meat and potato (not the Hollands crap!) to go home with for tea and a pie-of-the-week. "What is it this week" I hear you all cry - why, it's Christmas in a crust; turnkey, stuffing and cranberry. MMMMMMMMMMM

    I love Fridays!

What do you lot scran on a regular slot each week?

A subject to get our teeth into!! Very Happy

For me it's gotta be a steak pie or meat & potato from a belting little stall on chorley market (known as the "flat iron!"), freshly made in the morning. tongue bounce

Reckon geminis is right pies are probably a northern thing. Shocked

mmmmm I do like a good pie.... I think meat and potato prob has it for a snack, but for a meal cant beat steak and kidney pie or pudding Smile

Never met a pie i didnt like really... Went to a pub for lunch a fw weeks back, and there was pie of the day on the menu, so just oredered that without asking what it was.

turned out to be Chicken in Blackbean sauce Pie, complete with green peppers etc.

Quite nice tho What a Face

I'm not a fan of kidney but I agree that it's a great classic. I don't think that pies are a Northern thing in that they eat pie and mash in the south do they not? However, it definitely is in terms of the quality. I'm spoilt now in West Yorkshire because I work next to Skipton - the best pies in England.

We get a delivery to the factory on a Friday; still wamr and absolutely delicious. The meat and potato may as well be called 'a pie full of steak with some tiny bits of potato in"; they're brilliant!
