Ok, just been thinking of better ways to have satelites.
The normal rebuy or frz sats are fine if youve got a few hrs, but im thinking more like games that start 7-8 and a lot of people dont get home till 5-6 etc.
Turbos and expresses fill the gap sort of, but the one chip all in things and stuff like that just arent fun. Need something thats a bit quicker than an express, but still with a skill element...
So, how about a heads up tourn, like the all in ones that laddies have done in the past, but with a twist.
Each player gets 5 hands in a row, and 5 seconds to decide on each of them. If they choose one thats theyre hand, and they dont see the others, and if they fold they see the next hand. You cant go back to a previous hand, so if you get dealt 4 lots of reasonable hands, but dont choose them, and then get 2 7 on the final hand, thats just tough.
Once both players have chosen a hand (and you get to see which number hand the oppo has chosen, whether he took the first one, or waited etc) then both players hands are shown, flop, turn, river are dealt, and winner advances. Still nearly as quick as an all in sat, but with a bit more skill!
The maths would be pretty easy, should you play KJ if its the first hand, 2nd hand etc, so people who gave it some thought would do well longterm against people who didnt.
Plus it would be entertaining
