Ok so back a little earlier than planned but not really much I could do about this one.
I got 22 first hand in, I was bb. Mid position min raiser sb all in, and original raiser calls. AK v QQ first hand QQ holds up.
That particular hand I am mentioning as it contained my best starting hand of the evening!
Didn't see an A of any description until hand before break when I got A2 again on bb. Flop came down Q72 rainbow 3 players in the hand. I check, there's a raise and a re raise so I fold. Trip 7's take out AQ.
I manage to get to the break with about the same chips I started with due to a little stealing etc but I am the table shorty and it's got a little looser over the last hour or so.
First hand after the break I get AQ (I almost shed a tear of joy) and am 2nd to act. I raise to 1200 and decide if anyone re raises then I am lumping as I have been stone dead card wise since it started. Everyone folds to bb who lumps all in. He has me covered by about 2000 so I don't hesitate and call. He flips over AK! Flop comes Q high and I am doubled through. Still one of the short stacks at the table but feeling better.
Couple of hands later I have
on bb and there is one limper (nervous old boy) and the sb with me in pot. Flop
. Sb checks I do too. Old guy puts in 600 half pot bet sb folds I call. (should've raised big here but called too quickly). Turn comes down
I'm pretty happy with this as I think he may have J10 JQ and the flush threat would be enough for me to raise him off it. I check to see what he does hoping to re raise him all in and fairly sure he'd fold. He checks and river comes down
I have a quick look at his stack and announce 4k bet which after him counting leaves him 100 chippies. He thinks here for around 5mins (I kid you not) and I'm catching the dealers eye and nodding towards him as if to tell him to make the old guy decide!
After his nap he eventually decides to call, holding back his 100 chips for a startling come back should he lose this one.
He flips over
and I can't help it. A guffaw of laughter spurts forth, followed by a "what the feck took you so long?"
"I was really worried you may have a higher flush" says Mr Nervy baws. I had to reply. "There would've been scorch marks on the felt if I had that hand m8, so fast would I have put me chippies in"
Totally fucked up read by me but hey we all make mistakes. This left me with about 1800 chips and I duly shoved next time I had position and half a hand. My K7 ran into A7 and it was on with the seat warmer and back up the road. Ho hum.
