Live Game Question Empty Live Game Question

Post  swishtony Mon Dec 07, 2009 4:49 am

Recently traveled away to play in a half decent £50 f/o tournie: 3k guaranteed, 10k stack, 30 minute blinds, 72 runners, lovely!

On my table I had the monthly league leader, monthly top money winner and the previous months leaderboard winner. Nice easy table then!

It was obvious that everyone at the table knew each other very well and an interesting hand came up as follows:

Level 2 or 3, blinds probably 100/200ish, most stacks between 8 and 12k, no big hands up to now.

Guy in cut off has about 8k and raises 4 times BB. Fold, fold, BB (who is clearly mates with the raiser) calls.

    Flop comes down JT2.

    BB insta all in.

CO umms and aahhs, thinks a bit then...

BB says "Let me help you out here, your over-pair are behind, I am beating an over-pair".

CO says "well why would you bet out like that and why would you tell me?"

BB says "I don't want to knock you out so I'm telling you now to fold your over pair"

CO folds and flips over his aces. BB shows his JT.

    Cheating or not?????

Came 12th, shoved with AK sooted, insta called by A8 for his tourny ... flop 8xx x x :-( Left me with about 2 BBs so as good as out.

Caller was a total cok who I had been having needle with all night and when he starts fist pumping and all the shouting "get the fook in" etc etc I had to give him a piece of my mind, hate ungracious winners!

You & I spoke about this hand m8 so you know where I stand on it, out & out collusion for me. Sick as you know what for the AK A8 btw and yeah I agree I hate ungracious winners. I can be an ungracious loser at times but I think I am ok when it comes to winning, especially if I outdraw.

This is blatent collusion, I think I would have called for a ruling on this. should have definitely been some kind of penalty for such obvious cheating. Did nobody else at the table have anything to say about it?

Personally id of being more than happy to take them both outside, shake em upside down and take all their money!
Its a fking joke, i know of 4 blokes that do this at the G in birmingham week in week out and its wrong.

Hmmm... thanks for the replies and glad we all seem to more or less agree!

Always a tricky one, turn up somewhere where everyone is mates, I don't know a single person there, what do ya do?Keep my mouth shut is what I chose.

Possibly cowardly but in the wild west youda (Bainn is that a word?) got shot for way less and in the wild South East of London probably worse lol.

Pisses me off that kinda behaviour and to be honest similar stuff was going on during other hands as well. One of my mates I was with said the same was going on at his table.

    You mean "Reading" ?

    Ignored the nonsensical "Youda".

"You would have been" is the only acceptable statement to use.
