ok so you limp in with meduim or low pp from utg!

flop comes and you hit your set with no obvious st8 or flush draws.

do you bet it or check to re raise.

i have been in this position many a time but feel i dont get paid for betting out and seem to get outdrawn when going for the check raise.

    advice needed!!

bet it everytime and hope he has part of it. i used to think checking was the best thing to do but at the end of the day it does not build a pot

also if its a low flop say you have 66 and flop comes 2 6 10. lately ive noticed the bb/sb will try a semi bluff here as they put you on big cards limping utg so you sometimes get them raising back at you as they think your bet is just a s-cbet

    Hi M8
You need to be more specific here to get a proper answer.
how many people are in the pot?
did anyone raise then you called after limping what was the flop ie is there an ace or king ?
Are u just against the blinds then last to act post flop.
Do you have agressive players in the pot or passive
Possibles draws even if its a gutshot?
So many variables to be honest and all can be played differently.

as Huckster says, too many things to consider to make one general rule. If the table bully chippy is in the pot, theres far more chance of him betting than if its a couple of medium stacks in the pot. And a high card on the flop is always more likely to make someone bet for you etc.

You need to have a feel for the table and more info about the hand before you can decide which is the best course of action.

Knowing your own table image is also important, if you've been betting a lot of flops i'd be much more inclined to bet it lol.
