Love these things, anyone got any good ones?

    -------------

You're stranded in canada or alaska or something, nearly freezing to death in the middle of nowhere, but over the next hill you see a small cabin and manage to make it inside.

Inside you find a gas fire, an oil lamp, and a candle.

However you only have one match.

    Which do you light first?

ok, bit of a random set up for this one, but bear with me...

youre in a room in a house with 3 light switches, the switches are marked A, B and C, and are all in the marked "off" position.

In another room at the otherside of the house there is a single lightbulb.

You can do anything you want with the switches, and then you must go to the room with the light bulb in it. Once there you have to KNOW which light switch works the bulb.

You cant see the lightbulb or the lightbulb room from youre lightswitch room. You cant fck about with the wiring. And the 2 light switches that dont work the bulb are just dummy switches that dont do anything. You can only go to the light bulb room once, and cant return to the switches once you have done so. Oh and theres just you in the house.

So how do you do it? (And it can be done, theres no daft trick to it)

Is the bulb an energy saving one Wink and is the bulb ceiling mounted, and if so can you reach it or is there a chair or something to stand on.

Think that should be enough clues for those who haven't got it yet Very Happy

id keep flicking each switch on and off loads untill i heard the bulb blow.

or id switch each one on in turn, and wait for the missus to moan at me for leaving the light on in a room im not in.

    I would...

turn on switch 1 for 5 minutes or so then turn it off again. Then turn on switch 2 and immediately go and check the bulb.

If its on then switch 2 is the right one, if it's off and the bulb is warm then it's switch 1 you're after. If it's off and the bulb is cold then it's switch 3 that's the right one.

Then call the electrician who wired your house to complain about overcharging you for all the switches he put in with no lights and ask why the fk the switch for that light is the other side of the house Smile

There are five houses in a row in different colors. In each house lives a person with a different nationality. The five owners drink a different drink, smoke a different brand of cigarette and keep a different pet, one of which is a Walleye Pike.

Question is - "Who owns the Pike?"

    Clues -

    1. The Brit lives in the red house.
    2. The Swede keeps dogs as pets.
    3. The Dane drinks tea.
    4. The green house is on the left of the white house.
    5. The green house owner drinks coffee.
    6. The person who smokes Pall Malls keeps birds.
    7. The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhills.
    8. The man living in the house right in the center drinks milk.
    9. The man who smokes Embassy lives next to the one who keeps cats.
    10. The Norwegian lives in the first house.
    11. The man who keeps horses lives next to the one who smokes Dunhills.
    12. The owner who smokes Bensons drinks beer.
    13. The German smokes Lucky Strike.
    14. The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.
    15. The man who smokes Embassy has a neighbour who drinks water.
