    Post  Dish77 Wed Oct 21, 2009 10:39 am

Getting pretty fed up of being donked out of tourns and its starting to get me down.

Would appreciate some advice on donking tips, is there an art to it?

    Thanks in advance

Unfortunately m8 I never ever ever ever get lucky and am constantly on the receiving end of them.

I went to my doctor (who doesn't play poker) and even he said I looked as if I was suffering from a bad case of donkitis!

Take 2 aspirin, kick the dog, shag the wife and buy back in in the morning m8.

    muahaha

    LMFAO

I sense a grumpy post coming your way....

On a serious note, you'll notice most donks play a lot of pots - this is actually quite a good idea, especially when you have a lot of bbs. Dont overdo it, but if you can get in a cheap multiway pot, with a good or definite chance of nobody raising behind you, then get in and start donking Smile

Both of those are good points.

It's simple really. Don't rely on luck b waiting for yourself to get lucky, make your own luck. That's the key to playing like a Donk; well, it is for me at least.

    What's more "lucky"?
    a)getting KK and coming against someone with QQ and winning a huge pot;
b)getting 78 sooted and beating KK with a small 1/50th bb call after a nice looking flop.

I know which hand would get the "ul" and I know the player that would get berated.

I think it's all a matter of opinion, but then I would say that considering I'm a complete muff V. It's about time people realised (and I say this to myself as well) that a) you want the freaking donkey call and b) it's all bloody luck!

LOL amusing answer, but I feel I must intervene...

In the Smilies box Vad, you'll see a "View more emoticons" menu - under this there are "Smilies", "cards", and "signs". Jerry emoticon should be among the signs...

try it out at the first stages of a torney when the blinds are small ( 10/20 ) and u got 2k in chips, try limping in a lot of pots or calling small raises with suited connectors, small prs,tj and so on. and see how u get on.

with these sort of hands u tend to know where u are when the flop comes down.

if you burn off 10-15% of ur chips in the first couple of levels then its not the worst thing in the world.

just dont get too reeled in post flop chasing the 4 outers unless the price is right

That's my plan, fluff, the only problem I find is I don't know when to stop!
