So, I have to play at the ALEA in Leeds on Saturday, do any of the forumites have any info or safety tips to share for my trip to Leeds ?

Will I need a stabproof vest ? Will they understand the Queens english ?

If you generally dont communicate with anyone who is a native of leeds until inside the poker venue you should be ok Laughing i only say this due to your addiction to sarcasm. Good luck by the mate Smile

i take it when u says 'the queens english' you mean queen victoria by the way u usually talk.

personally i wouldn't call everyone 'squire' and correct everyones grammer every 5 mins.this is only askin for trouble. Wink Wink

Indeed, this was already the plan, but mostly because I probably would be unable to understand the local dialect.

    Cheers for the GL.

I do but I am intelligent enough to recognise a completely & utterly lost cause.

Apparently the Loiners (honest, thats what you call people from Leeds...) love it if you sing them a song.

One of the area's favourites is this little ditty. I reccomend finding your seat, arranging your chips and drink, then standing up and belting it out.

to the tune of - the obvious...

On the first day of Christmas my true-love gave to me,
    An Eric Cantona.

On the second day of Christmas my true-love gave to me,
    Two Cantonas,
    And an Eric Cantona.

On the third day of Christmas my true-love gave to me,
    Three Cantonas,
    Two Cantonas,
    And an Eric Cantona.

On the fourth day of Christmas my true-love gave to me,
    Four Cantonas,
    Three Cantonas,
    Two Cantonas,
    And an Eric Cantona.

On the fifth day of Christmas my true-love gave to me,
    Fiiiiiiive Caaaaantoooooonaaaaaaas,
    Four Cantonas,
    Three Cantonas,
    Two Cantonas,
    And an Eric Cantona.

On the sixth day of Christmas my true-love gave to me,
    Six Cantonas,
    Fiiiiiiive Caaaaantoooooonaaaaaaas,
    Four Cantonas,
    Three Cantonas,
    Two Cantonas,
    And an Eric Cantona.

and so on, you get the gist.

    doh

    Have a good weekend!

Oh and good luck for the tournament m8y Wink

Have to say I think Harmony and myself are spoiled having DTD as our local cardroom, the cardroom staff did come across as being particularly good or thoroughly trained.

As to the ME, all I will say is that after the "Chip Dumping" incident I pretty much gave up with it. Two players to my left discussed what to do when they were in the blinds, and did it exactly according to plan.

However, my one of my students made the FT so I am delighted for him.

Harmony and I made money in the sidegames so not a total bust.

Also found out I run so good at actual "Coin-flips" for cash.

    Laughing
